Ontario Liberal MPP Bonnie Crombie has formally announced her resignation as party leader, effective immediately.
Crombie initially announced her intention to step down in September saying she would stay on as leader until a new one was found.
But, today, Crombie said it's time for both her and the party to move forward, with the Ontario Liberal Party stating it will select an interim leader shortly while working on its leadership process.
The party has not yet said when the leadership race will begin.
