The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake is welcoming the LCBO’s move to expand shelf space and place a greater focus on Ontario VQA wines, calling it a boost for the local wine industry and agri-tourism sector.
The decision reflects increased collaboration between government, retailers, and industry partners, and follows ongoing advocacy to improve access to Ontario wines within the LCBO system.
Town officials raised the issue with Minister Vic Fedeli during meetings at both the 2025 AMO and 2026 ROMA conferences, emphasizing the need to strengthen the province’s wine sector, expand market access, and support long-term economic growth.
