J.R. Stork Bridge in St. Catharines to undergo replacement this summer

A major bridge replacement project is about to get underway in St. Catharines.

Niagara Region says work on the J.R. Stork Bridge on Martindale Road is expected to begin June 8 and wrap up by the end of the year.

The bridge, built in 1967, will be replaced with a modern structure designed to improve traffic flow and meet future transportation needs.

The project also includes road reconstruction and replacement of a watermain beneath Richardson's Creek.
