IceDogs Unleashed: Wil McFadden looking to make big impact with his new team this season

With the Niagara IceDogs season officially kicking off in two days, one of the newest members of the team is looking to make a big impact in his fourth OHL season.

Wil McFadden was traded to the IceDogs over the summer from the Guelph Storm in a deal that sent forward Ryan Roobroeck the other way.

Since coming to the IceDogs, McFadden has had his mind set on making an impact for this new team.

McFadden, a Peterborough-native, has played three seasons now in the OHL, and recorded a career-best 41 points in 62 games for the Storm last season before being dealt to Niagara.

He feels his game fits in well with the new systems being implemented by Head Coach Jake Grimes.

The IceDogs kick off the 2026-2027 season on Friday night visiting the Brantford Bulldogs, before their home opener on Saturday at Meridian Centre against the Brampton Steelheads.

Don't forget, you can hear every single Niagara IceDogs game this season on Niagara's New Country 89.1, with Reece Doumani on the call for every second of the action!
