The Niagara IceDogs are coming out of the weekend on a two game winning streak, with the newest member of the team looking to help extend that.
Last week, the team traded a 5th round pick to the Brantford Bulldogs in exchange for winger Joey Banas.
He says he's been welcomed with open arms since joining the team, despite coming from one of their biggest rivals.
Banas wasted no time making an impact for Niagara, scoring a go-ahead goal against the Barrie Colts during Saturday's 4-2 victory at Meridian Centre.
He says it was even sweeter than he expected.
When asked what fans can expect from his play, Banas says he's a skilled forward that is also reliable in his own end of the rink.
The IceDogs are back in action Thursday night when the Soo Greyhounds visit the Meridian Centre. You can hear full coverage of every game this season on Niagara's New Country 89.1 with Reece Doumani on the call.
