While this season is seen as a fresh start for many in the Niagara IceDogs organization - one player is getting set to hit a major milestone with the team.

Ivan Galiyanov is the longest tenured member of the IceDogs, and is set to suit up in his 200th regular season game for the team tomorrow night at the Meridian Centre against the Ottawa 67s.

He says being in his fourth season with Niagara, he's got an opportunity to prove himself as a leader to both his teammates, and the new coaching staff.

The Ajax-born Galiyanov game to the IceDogs as a rookie in 2023, jumping right into the everyday lineup for Niagara. He says over the last three seasons, he's improved his strength a ton, which has helped with his play on the ice.

He says spending so much time in Niagara, including coming here during the offseason to help with kid's camps, has made it a second home.

Much like most of the IceDogs this season, Galiyanov says he wants to prove a lot of Niagara's doubters wrong.
