The IceDogs were outmanned with several players slowed by illness but still battled the CHL's 7th ranked Bulldogs in a 5-2 defeat in Brantford.
Alex Hage opened the scoring with his 4th of the season at 2:23 with linemates Ivan Galiyanov and Ryeth Smith adding assists. Krys Barch's team maintained the lead until a late deflection evened the score.
The night stayed even until Brantford was given a late period 5 on 3 advantage to lead 2-1 after two periods.
In the third, the Bulldogs extended the lead but Hayden Reid scored short-handed at 8:01 for his 18th of the season to again make it a one goal affair. One more at even strength and an empty-netter ended the night's scoring. Charlie Robertson was again strong between the pipes, as the IceDogs were outshot 36-18.
Saturday night will now be a playoff preview as the IceDogs travel to Barrie. New Country 89.1 will be there with the call, starting with the pre-game at 7:15.
