Niagara Regional Police say the discovery of human remains near Read Road along the Lake Ontario shoreline is now being treated as a homicide.
Detectives continue working to identify the victim, who is described as a Black male between 18 and 22 years old, standing 5’10” to 6’3” with a muscular build.
Investigators believe the death occurred sometime between late 2021 and the spring of 2025. Due to the condition of the remains, the investigation has been described as particularly complex, with forensic and postmortem examinations still underway.
Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
