Ground breaks on new Spring Creek Transformer Station in Lincoln

Construction on the new Spring Creek Transformer Station in Lincoln has begun.

Niagara Peninsula Energy held a groundbreaking ceremony Friday, with construction expected to be completed in 2029.

The station will cost more than $35 million and will enhance system reliability, increase power capacity, and strengthen the local electrical grid to help support the growing community.

Town of Lincoln Mayor Sandra Easton emphasized the importance of the project in supporting local growth and economic development, adding that it'll help power generations to come in Lincoln.
