The Grimsby GO Station is moving closer to reality, with the Ontario government awarding a contract for major construction.
The station is expected to open in the second half of 2027 and could cut travel times to the nearest GO station by up to 30 minutes.
Work is already underway, with site grading happening next, followed by excavation and platform foundations.
The station will include one rail platform with a heated shelter, a five-bay bus loop, 220 parking spaces, bike parking and dedicated pick-up and drop-off areas.
The province says it’s investing more than $15 billion in improvements across the GO network.
