Hayden Reid and Riley Patterson scored twice as the IceDogs enjoyed the green ice of Erie in a 7-1 Saturday night victory in Pennsylvania. As the home team celebrated St Patrick's Day, Krys Barch's side jumped out to the lead on Reid's 16th at the 5:03 mark. After Erie tied the game 36 seconds later, Jakub Chromiak notched his 11th at 15:21. Charlie Roberston was busy as Niagara was outshot 16-8 through twenty.
The IceDogs started to blow it open in the second with a Patterson goal at 11:59. Hayden Reid fired home his second of the night to make is 4-1 IceDogs after two periods. Shots went the way of Niagara 12-11.
In the final stanza, Ryeth Smith hit for his 4th of the year at 2:11. In a fight filled third, the IceDogs took advantage of Erie penalties. Patterson 38th on the power-play at 11:52 elevated the Dogs sniper to third in the OHL in goals. Ryerson Edgar, also on the man advantage, 56 seconds later closed out the scoring with his 22nd. Shots favored Erie 33-27, in a win where the IceDogs scored a season high seven goals. Chase Hull with three assists and Blake Barnes with two were notable on the scoresheet.
