Employees at Garrison Place Retirement Home in Fort Erie have overwhelmingly approved a new three-year collective agreement, with 87 percent voting in favour.
The 50 staff members, including PSWs, RPNs, UCPs, dietary aides, and housekeeping and recreation staff, will see meaningful improvements to wages, benefits, and premiums starting December 1st.
The contract guarantees 3.5 percent annual wage increases, enhanced health coverage, higher shift premiums, and a two percent employer-matching retirement contribution.
A new provision also links starting wages to Ontario’s minimum wage, ensuring fair compensation for new employees.
