Foyer Richelieu Welland long-term care home officially opens its doors

The City of Welland and community partners marked the opening of the new Foyer Richelieu Welland long-term care home, which will welcome 128 residents - nearly doubling previous capacity.

The project expands care options through new private, semi-private, and basic rooms, as well as upgraded common areas and smaller living sections designed for a close-knit environment.

It also includes Walker House, a 10-bed residential hospice that began operating in August 2025.

Supported by provincial and municipal funding, the redevelopment strengthens long-term and palliative care services in the community.
