Four Canadians aboard hantavirus outbreak cruise return to B.C.

The four Canadians who were aboard a cruise ship stricken with a rare hantavirus outbreak landed in Victoria, B.C. last night, where they will continue their quarantine in complete isolation for at least 21 days.

They're in B.C. because they have connections with the province.

The four flew from the cruise ship to Spain, then a Quebec airport briefly then on to B.C.

Health officials have stressed that the hantavirus is "quite different" than COVID-19, and is much more difficult to transmit between humans.
