Niagara Regional Police have charged a Fort Erie man in connection with an armed robbery at a convenience store.
Police were called to a store on Bertie Street near North Street just after 7:30pm on Friday.
Investigators say a male suspect approached the clerk, displayed what appeared to be a handgun, and demanded cash from the register. The clerk complied and the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
Yesterday, detectives arrested 27-year-old Patrick Sassano of Fort Erie. He is charged with robbery using a firearm, disguise with intent, and possession of an imitation weapon.
