Former Willoughby Museum collection gets new life under city plan

Niagara Falls is moving ahead with a long-term plan to protect its historical collection following the closure of the Willoughby Historical Museum.

The museum, open for 57 years was shut down last year due to low attendance, limited space, and high operating costs.

Now, the City will review more than 10-thousand artifacts, bringing in additional staff to document and relocate items where needed.

Officials say the project will improve storage, enhance preservation, and make sure historically important pieces remain accessible for the future.
