Police in Wisconsin are investigating after Canadian Giovanni Michael Robinson was shot and killed just after midnight Thursday in Sheboygan Falls, near Lake Michigan.
The 32-year-old was born in Stouffville, Ontario, and was a former Niagara IceDog. The team released a statement saying the hockey community is mourning his tragic loss.
Officers responded to a 911 call about a man with a gunshot wound in a commercial area of the city. Despite life-saving efforts, Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Robinson had been living in Pennsylvania and worked with an indoor golf company, frequently travelling across the U.S. for golf trips.
