Five injured after impaired driver hits GO Bus head on in St. Catharines

Police have made an arrest in connection to a head-on collision involving a GO Bus and an SUV in St. Catharines.

Yesterday around 4:00 p.m., police say a northbound Honda CR-V collided with a southbound GO Bus on North Service Road near YMCA Drive.

Police say the bus was carrying 18 passengers, with the driver and five passengers, including an infant, taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A 56-year-old MIchael Winger of Omemee has been charged with impaired driving and other offences after allegedly testing three times over the legal alcohol limit.
