Final federal budget vote being held today in Ottawa

The House of Commons is set for one final vote on the main budget motion today that will determine if the budget can go ahead and also if the Liberal Party can keep governing.

Because it's considered a confidence vote, the government would fall if the motion fails — and Canadians would likely be heading to another election...during the Holidays.

The Liberals are still a few votes shy of a majority, meaning the government will need the co-operation of at least one other party to pass today's motion.
