Niagara Regional Police have laid a manslaughter charge following the investigation into a fatal overdose in St. Catharines.

The investigation began after a 37-year-old man was found dead at a home near Lloyd Street and Rykert Street in January. Detectives say the overdose led them to a suspected drug trafficker.

Anthony Clarke, 37, of Toronto, was arrested during a traffic stop and charged with manslaughter, along with trafficking fluorofentanyl and cocaine.

Police say more suspected drugs and cash were found during his arrest, resulting in several additional possession for the purpose of trafficking charges.
