A family doctor who chooses to open a new practice in Niagara Falls will receive a $100,000 signing bonus as part of the city’s effort to attract physicians.
The incentive package may also come with a donated one-year vehicle lease, a swim and skate membership at the community centre, and a family pass to Muskoka Heritage Place.
As Ontario faces an ongoing shortage, municipalities across the province are investing heavily in recruitment, offering bonuses, housing support, and relocation assistance.
Many, including Niagara Falls, require physicians to remain for at least five years to help them build long-term ties to the community.
