A Facebook Marketplace ad helped Niagara Police crack a vehicle theft investigation in Grimsby.
Police say a 2019 Toyota Rav4 was stolen overnight from a home on Robinson Street North on May 23rd, along with several personal items including golf clubs.
Detectives later spotted golf clubs matching the stolen set listed for sale online and arranged a meet-up at a Hamilton home.
Investigators executed a search warrant Monday night on King Street East, where police say the suspect tried to escape by jumping from a second-storey balcony before being arrested.
The stolen golf clubs were recovered and returned to the owner, while the stolen SUV was later recovered by Hamilton Police.
29-year-old Bekim Dzemailji is charged with trafficking property obtained by crime and failing to comply with probation.
He remains in custody with a court appearance set for June 1st.
