17 trucks immediately pulled off the road
A joint enforcement blitz targeting commercial trucks took place on Monday, June 9, led by Niagara Regional Police in collaboration with Halton and Hamilton Police, the MTO, and the Town of Lincoln.
Responding to complaints from residents in Lincoln and West Lincoln about heavy truck traffic, officers targeted commercial vehicles suspected of dodging the Vineland Inspection Station and conducted full safety checks.
Of the 40 trucks inspected, 17 were immediately pulled off the road for major safety violations. The sweep also resulted in one vehicle impounded, 2 sets of plates seized, 37 tickets issued and one driver arrested for driving under suspension.
The initiative reinforces ongoing efforts to keep Niagara’s roads safe and address local concerns.
