The nomination deadline has now passed for candidates looking to run in the upcoming Municipal Election.
Several Niagara mayors are seeking re-election this October, including Mat Siscoe in St. Catharines, Jim Diodati in Niagara Falls, Bill Steele in Port Colborne, Wayne Redekop in Fort Erie, Marvin Junkin in Pelham, Brian Grant in Waintfleet and Grimsby's Jeff Jordan. Meantime, Cheryl Ganann in West Lincoln is running unopposed.
Welland will have a new mayor, after Frank Campion announced last week that he would not seek a fourth term. Thorold Mayor Terry Ugulini and Lincoln Mayor Sandra Easton both announced earlier this year that they would not be seeking re-election, while Niagara-on-the-Lake's Lord Mayor, Gary Zalepa, is not listed as a candidate on the town's website.
