Ryerson Edgar became the first IceDogs rookie ever to net two hat-tricks and Charlie Robertson recorded his second shutout of the season as Niagara blanked the Attack 5-0 in Owen Sound Saturday night. His first three goal game came on September 21st in the IceDogs home opener.
Edgar's first in the opening period staked the visitors to a 1-0 advantage that held up into period three. Outshot 9-8 in the opener, Krys Barch's side turned the tables in period two with a 10-7 edge.
In the third, Grayson Tiller's 3rd of the season at 2:02 extended the lead. Hayden Reid at 8:12 struck for his 8th on a solo, breakaway effort. Ryerson Edgar at even strength and then late on the power-play, his 13th of his first OHL season made it a 5-0 final.
Charlie Robertson was solid throughout, spectacular when he had to be, in stopping all 30 Owen Sound shots.
Sunday afternoon is a Pyjama Party home date with Brampton. The puck drop is at 2 at the Meridian Centre and New Country 89.1 will have all the action starting with the pre-game at 1:45.
