Dogs Win Late...Again!

In front of a sold-out Meridian Centre, Hayden Reid scored the winner with 2:50 to go, as the IceDogs beat the CHL 10th ranked Kitchener Rangers 4-3 Saturday night. The power-play marker, his 11th of the year was assisted by former Ranger Jakub Chromiak and Riley Patterson. Vladislav Yermolenko was outstanding once again, turning aside 28 Kitchener shots.

Ryerson Edgar opened the scoring 1:10 into the contest with his 17th of his rookie campaign. Two power-play goals 10 minutes apart staked the visitors to a 2-1 advantage. Ethan Czata notched his 18th in the final minute on a sweet feed from Patterson, in a first period where the Rangers outshot the home team 12-9.

A second period power-play goal once again put the Dogs down 3-2 but Patterson's 28th tied the score one more time. The shot count favored Kitchener 11-4.

Yermolenko made no less than three amazing stops in the final twenty, paving the way for Reid's heroics. Outshot 31-17, the win moved Niagara in front of North Bay into 5th spot in the East of the OHL.

A rare Monday night home game kicks off a new IceDogs week with Guelph providing the opposition. New County 89.1 will have the broadcast beginning with the pre-game at 6:45.
