Dogs Edged in Barrie

The IceDogs fired a season high 42 shots at the Barrie Colts but couldn't come up with the equalizer, falling 2-1 on the road Saturday night.

Down 1-0 after one on a Colts power-play goal, the IceDogs replied with one of their own 39 seconds into the second. Ethan Czata's 12th was a deflection with Kevin He and Ryan Roobroeck providing the assists. The winner was an even strength goal a little after the eight minute mark in the same period.

The third period did not change the outcome, in a game where rookie Judd Knauft recorded a season high 4 shots on goal.

The Merdian Centre will be rocking on a quick turnaround game Sunday against North Bay. The IceDogs and Battalion will do battle and New Country 89.1 will have the call beginning at 1:45.
