The IceDogs scored twice in the third, coming up short 4-3 to the CHL 8th ranked Flint Firebirds Friday night at the Meridian Centre.
Down 1-0 in the first, Ryan Roobroeck's 17th tied the score with 2:26 to play. Krys Barch's side held a 7-6 edge in shots.
In the second, Flint scored a pair of power-play goals, the second on a failed challenge of the first goal for goalie interference. An even strength marker at 12:29 made it 4-1 after two periods. Penalties gave Flint a 16-3 shots advantage. Vladislav Yermolenko was outstanding between the pipes.
In the final twenty, Ethan Czata hit for his 14th early, while Alex Hage deflected one home for his 3rd of the season to make it a one goal game. Recording 16 of the 20 shots made it a 26-26 total for 60 minutes.
