Dogs Are Comeback Kids Again!

Hayden Reid's second of the game and 14th of the season was the overtime winner at 2::55 in Kingston, giving the IceDogs a 4-3 comeback win Saturday. Of the 27 IceDogs wins so far this season, 13 have come either late in the third or in overtime.

Reid opened the scoring 4:41 in on solo effort. The IceDogs had a great opening twenty dominating the home squad 16-9 on the shot clock.

Period two belonged to the Frontenacs, scoring twice a 1:25 span to take the lead after forty minutes. Kingston recorded 11 of the 21 shots in the middle stanza.

In the third, after the Fronts made it 3-1, Riley Patterson stepped forward. His 33rd on the power-play brought Krys Barch's side closer at 9:14. With Charlie Robertson on the bench for a 6th attacker, Patterson's 34th came with 1:25 to go. Ethan Czata and Jakub Chromiak picked up assists on each goal. Niagara refused to lose firing 18 shots on goal, compared to 5 for the home team.

Robertson meanwhile had to be sharp, making tough saves, both late in the second and third periods.

In overtime, all IceDogs, recording all three shots on goal, with the third one being the charm. Another unassisted effort by Hayden Reid down the right wing powered the IceDogs to a big two points in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

After four straight on the road, the IceDogs return home to play Erie Thursday night, before ending the weekend with tow more away from home. New Country 89.1 will have the call from the Meridian Centre, starting at 6:45.
