Some big news when it comes to mail delivery in your neighbourhood...and right across the country.
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers has declared a countrywide strike, hours after Ottawa announced door-to-door mail delivery will end for nearly all Canadian households within the next decade.
CUPW posted a notice on its website Thursday that workers were walking off the job...in what they're saying is a "government attack" on the postal service and workers.
Canada Post spokeswoman Lisa Liu says no mail will be accepted, processed or delivered for the duration of the national strike, and some post offices will be closed.
