Welland residents will have another chance to help neighbours in need when the city-wide Welland Food Drive returns November 7th.
The annual tradition dates back to 1992, and comes as local food banks continue to see growing demand. More than one in 10 Welland residents used The Hope Centre Food Bank last year.
Volunteers will start collecting bags and boxes of non-perishable food from doorsteps at 10 a.m.
Donations will be shared equally among Open Arms Mission, The Hope Centre and The Salvation Army Welland.
Organizers are asking residents to leave out unopened, unexpired food, volunteer with a collection team or make a secure online donation.
