The City of Welland is mourning the loss of Dan Fortier this week.
A lifelong Welland resident, Fortier spent years in public service as a member of Welland City Council and Niagara Regional Council.
He was widely respected for his commitment to community involvement and his belief in meaningful public engagement.
The city, in a post about his passing on social media, says Fortier’s contributions will be remembered locally and beyond.
