The City of Welland has secured $10.7-million in provincial funding to support major infrastructure upgrades in the Broadway neighbourhood.
The funding, provided through Ontario’s Health and Safety Water Stream program, will help expand a 15 million dollar project that includes upgrades to sanitary and storm sewers, watermains, and underground infrastructure.
City officials say the work is aimed at reducing basement flooding risks and improving system performance during severe weather.
