St. Catharines is getting ready to celebrate Emancipation Day with a weekend of music, history, culture and community.
Matter of Black is hosting Emancipation Day STC 2026 from July 24 to 26, featuring events that honour the legacy and contributions of African, Caribbean and Black communities in Niagara.
The weekend begins with a comedy night featuring Jay Martin, followed by a celebration marking the 175th anniversary of Harriet Tubman’s arrival in St. Catharines.
