The City of St. Catharines will host a Telephone Town Hall Tuesday evening to provide residents with an update on the city’s ongoing flood recovery and response efforts.
The telephone town hall will run from 7 to 8 p.m. and will give residents an opportunity to hear directly from city officials and ask questions about the recovery work underway across St. Catharines.
The event will operate similarly to a radio call-in show, except residents will receive a call from the city inviting them to participate in the live conversation.
City staff will provide information on the response and recovery efforts following three major rainstorms between July 21 and August 2. More than 300 millimetres of rain fell during the storms, overwhelming roads and sewer and stormwater infrastructure and causing significant property damage, including shoreline erosion affecting both private and public property.
The storms impacted thousands of residents throughout St. Catharines, and the telephone town hall will provide an opportunity for residents to hear the latest information as recovery work continues.
Residents who want to ensure they receive a call, be added to the call list, request to be removed from the list, or submit a question or comment in advance can do so through the City of St. Catharines' Telephone Town Hall webpage.
Residents must be added to or removed from the call list by noon Monday, August 24.
