Washout conditions reported on many local trails
Storm damage has forced the temporary closure of sports fields and trails across St. Catharines.
City officials say last night's storm caused flooding and washout conditions in parks and along trail systems, creating unsafe conditions for public use.
Residents are being urged to stay away from creeks, rivers and other waterways because of slippery banks, high water levels, standing water and erosion.
City crews will assess the damage and reopen affected areas once it is safe to do so.
