Emergency Ready in Canada is reminding the public of a scheduled test of the Alert Ready system today.
The test will be broadcast over wireless devices, television, and radio in participating provinces and territories to ensure the system is ready to deliver urgent warnings during emergencies.
Regular testing of Alert Ready helps authorities confirm that alerts can reach Canadians quickly and efficiently in the event of a real emergency. Residents are encouraged to be aware that this is only a test and no action is required.
The initiative highlights Canada’s ongoing commitment to public safety and preparedness, ensuring that communities remain informed and protected when urgent situations arise.
In Ontario, today's test will be at 12:55pm. The Alert Ready system had issued nearly 900 alerts this year in Canada as of Halloween.
