Brock University has received a major gift of more than $7 million from longtime supporter Norris Walker, who passed away in January 2024.
On Friday, the University honoured Walker by announcing its research farm will be renamed the Brock University Norris W. Walker Research Farm.
Part of the Clean Agriculture for Sustainable Production Field Infrastructure project, the Merrittville Highway facility will advance sustainable farming, climate resilience and food security research.
Brock President Lesley Rigg praised Walker as a “visionary leader” whose gift will support student learning through co-op placements, research and hands-on agricultural training.
Walker’s family said the donation reflects his lifelong commitment to the Niagara region and to preparing the next generation of leaders.
