Brock University officially opens new Norris W. Walker Research Farm

Innovation in agriculture is getting a boost in Niagara.

Brock University has launched the next phase of its Clean Agriculture for Sustainable Production project with the opening of the Norris W. Walker Research Farm.

Researchers say the farm will serve as a living laboratory for developing stronger crops and finding solutions to challenges facing the agriculture sector. Located on Merrittville Highway, the research farm will help scientists develop virus-free grapevines, more resilient crops and new technologies aimed at supporting sustainable agriculture.

The initiative is backed by more than $14 million in combined funding, including a major gift from the late Niagara philanthropist Norris Walker.
