A Brock university researcher is looking for MS patients to take part in new research about how summer heat can affect those living with it.
PhD student Georgia Charachousou says people with MS can experience increased fatigue, blurred vision, confusion and reduced coordination when temperatures rise.
She’s now studying whether those symptoms are driven more by core body temperature or skin temperature, which could lead to better ways of managing heat sensitivity.
Charachousou is looking for Niagara residents with relapsing MS to take part in the research.
Participants must have an EDSS score of six or less. She can be contacted here: zz24ex@brocku.ca.
