Brock researchers reporting promising conditions for 2025 grape crop

Harvest season is underway in Niagara, and researchers at Brock University’s Cool Climate Oenology and Viticulture Institute are reporting promising conditions for this year’s grape crop.

Despite a hot, dry summer, a damp spring and the recent stretch of warm days and cool nights are balancing things out for growers.

In 2023, Ontario’s three key grape-producing regions, Niagara, Prince Edward County, and the Lake Erie North Shore  yielded 65,000 tonnes of grapes, according to the Grape Growers of Ontario.
