Associate Professor Erin Panda says exercise could help with focus

A Brock University researcher is exploring whether exercise could help students with ADHD improve focus, memory and their ability to manage distractions.

Associate Professor Erin Panda and her team are studying how physical activity affects the brain’s executive functioning, the skills needed for attention, working memory and staying on task.

The research is supported by a grant from the Government of Canada’s Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.

Panda says the goal is to better understand whether exercise could become a proactive tool to support students, giving them another strategy to improve learning and everyday tasks.
