Brock child homelessness report released

A Brock University research report on child homelessness in Niagara was released last week, sharing the experiences, stories, and challenges that kids in the Region face while living in shelters across the Region.

The multi-year project had the University work with YWCA Niagara Region to connect with kids from their after-school program who were living in shelters.

Researchers said that for kids, homelessness is not just about losing the roof over their head, but also the experience of saying goodbye to family pets, changing schools mid-semester, and having to leave behind comforting toys at a time when they're needed most.
