UPDATE: The tornado warnings have ended.
Environment Canada has issued a red tornado warning for the Niagara Region.
Officials says a storm system moving through the area is creating damaging winds, possibly large hail and favorable conditions for a tornado.
The most vulnerable areas include Niagara Falls, Chippawa, St. David's, Virgil and Thorold. Environment Canada is calling the situation 'very serious and potentially life threatening;.
You're urged to take cover immediately in a basement or interior room if threatening weather approaches.
