Big Brothers Big Sisters of Niagara has announced the results of its third annual Big Start back-to-school shopping event.
In total, the event supported 62 children and youth from across Niagara, exceeding the agency’s goal of 60 participants.
Each young person received a $200 gift card to shop for school essentials with the guidance of a mentor.
In addition to their shopping trip, participants enjoyed lunch and received a backpack filled with supplies. In total, 212 backpacks containing more than 2,700 items were donated and distributed to children, youth, and families supported by BBBSN.
