Now that the Artemis II moon mission has begun, the four astronauts on board, including Canada's Jeremy Hansen, can get to work conducting numerous tests on the spacecraft, and themselves.

The rocket blasted off at 6:35pm yesterday from the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida, as crowds gathered along the coast to cheer on the first crewed trip to the moon in over half a century.

The crew will spend a day in orbit around Earth, checking their capsule before firing the main engine that will propel them to the moon, setting a distance record - travelling some 405,000 kilometres into space.
