An arrest has been made following incidents of mailbox thefts from homes in Welland.
On February 27th, Niagara Regional Police officers responded to reports of mailbox thefts from Welland residences which led to an investigation by the Central Fraud Unit, who identified and arrested Huguens Charlescat of Etobicoke on March 4th.
The 31-year-old man was charged with two counts of Theft from Mail and remains in custody after a bail hearing March 5th.
Residents of Welland who believe their mail was stolen are being asked by detectives to contact Equifax and Trans Union to ensure no unauthorized credit cards have been opened in their name.
