Annual 'Walk for Alzheimer's' aiming to raise $180,000 this year

The Alzheimer Society is gearing up for its biggest fundraiser of the year this weekend.

The Walk for Alzheimer’s takes place Sunday at Brock University’s Guernsey Market in St. Catharines, with a fundraising goal of more than $180,000 for local dementia programs and services.

Organizers say the event is meant to remind the more than 12,000 people living with dementia across the region and their families, that they are not alone.

The morning will include a wellness fair, live entertainment, educational stations and a personal story from this year’s walk spokesperson, Corrina, about her mother’s dementia journey.
