Port Colborne's annual tree giveaway is coming soon.
The city's Environmental Advisory Committee will be at H.H. Knoll Park Saturday morning, September 19, at 10, handing out 500 trees on a first-come, first-served basis in exchange for a non-perishable food item or monetary donation to Port Cares.
The one- and two-gallon pots will fit in the trunk or back seat of most vehicles and the sapling must be planted on private property.
Residents can choose between a variety of species including Sugar Maple, Red Oak, and Flowering Dogwood.
