Niagara Regional Police say 36 charges were laid during commercial vehicle safety checks this week.
On Monday, police partnered with the Town of Lincoln, Halton Police and the MTO looking for vehicles bypassing the Vineland Inspection Station.
Of 36 vehicles stopped, 12 were taken off the road because of major safety concerns, while two sets of plates were removed.
Police say charges were pressed regarding overweight loads, defective brakes and no insurance.
